Report A Road

Motorcycles and scooters cause less damage to roads than any other motorised vehicle, but are more susceptible to defective road surfaces. Badly maintained roads resulting in worn out surfaces, potholes, sunken drains/inspection covers can all be contributory factors in motorcycle and scooter crashes.  Poorly planned and executed maintenance such as unmarked road works, un-swept patch sealing on rural roads and tar snakes are hazards that need to be eliminated from our roadways.

We encourage you to report badly maintained roads or roads that have recently been repaired but have not been swept correctly so they still present a hazard.  This comes in under the MAG-NZ headings of personal and local action.

Local roads are maintained by your local council, a link to all local council website's can be found here.

The motorway system is maintained by NZTA, their details are below.
